Under
Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), 13 projects of
Uttarakhand were sanctioned during X Plan covering electrification of
1,511 un/de-electrified villages (UEV), intensive electrification of
13,820 partially electrified villages (PEV) and release of free
electricity connections to 2,23,067 BPL households. As on 15.07.2012,
the electrification works in all 1,511 UEV, intensive electrification in
9,028 PEV have been completed and free electricity connections to
2,30,558 BPL households have been released in the State of Uttarakhand.
Since all districts of Uttarakhand were already covered in X Plan, no
new project has been submitted by the Government of Uttarakhand for
sanction under RGGVY in the 11th Five Year Plan. The electrification
targets for current five year Plan i.e. 12th Plan have not been fixed.
